OCR-Software for Engineering Drawings:
SENSDOC®

The software system SENSDOC® has been developed in collaboration with LexCom Informationssysteme GmbH and is based on the PATTERN EXPERT Image Processing Engine (IPE) as well as the technology framework Pattern Expert.

This OCR software (Optical Character Recognition) is an efficient and powerful program for the automatic recognition of labeling fields in engineering drawings. The result is a list of hotspots containing positions and character strings of the labels.

A large number of pixel and vector image formats are supported. For the user, the automation of these processes results in a significant saving of time. A near 100% accuracy of data recognition is achieved by frequent-error lists, confidence values, and optimized knowledge bases. Data from other sources or from existing databases can be imported using special import filters. Direct usability or the possibility of fexible postprocessing of the resulting HTML or SVG files is ensured by using a large number of output formats, some of which are individually configurable.

Since version 4 of SENSDOC®, the additional program AutoSens is available, which allows for the integration of SENSDOC® into customer specific applications (e.g. ERP, editing systems, authoring tools, customer specific data preparation workflow etc.). Here, the processes are controlled via XML files without the necessity of interactive dialogs.

Based on the SENSDOC® technology, the software SENSCIRCUIT has been developed for SONY, which meets all of this company's specific requirements (importing bills of material, synchronization with external databases, exporting results to databases).
